Jonathan PondJonathan Pond
Jonathan Pond is considered a pioneer in bringing personalized money guidance directly to American households. His work in educating the public on financial matters has been far-reaching and his ability to translate complex financial topics into clear conversations, has made him widely recognized across the media. For decades, Jonathan has provided our clients with this same experienced, trustworthy, and sensible investment guidance. He is privileged to work with generations of individuals and families throughout the United States to help them achieve their personal financial goals.

Jonathan has been regularly sought as an objective and entertaining observer of the investing and personal financial planning worlds. During his career, Jonathan’s 21 public television specials have been critically acclaimed for their unique, approachable (often humorous) style, as well as their effectiveness in providing practical investment advice to people of all financial circumstances. He has made regular appearances on all national network and cable television outlets, including over 50 appearances on the NBC Today Show, as well as public radio stations across the country. Jonathan has lectured in 48 states and numerous countries to individuals, groups, academics, and professionals of all backgrounds. He is the recipient of over 20 national awards for excellence in his television and radio work, and he was the first Financial Ambassador at AARP. His awards include the Malcolm Forbes Public Awareness Award for Excellence in Advancing Financial Understanding and an Emmy® award.

Jonathan co-authors The Personal Financial Planning Handbook (Thomson Reuters), a definitive resource for financial planners and investment advisors, and has published numerous books throughout his career. He has received accolades as an outstanding author by The American Society of Association Executives, the Newsletter Writers Association, and the Library Journal,. Over one million copies of his books have been sold.

Numerous organizations have consulted with Jonathan on the topics of wealth management, the effect of disruptive technologies on career paths and financial wellbeing, the economic impact of an aging population, and the challenges confronting individuals and families in achieving financial security in today’s world.

Jonathan’s interest in investing was kindled by a stock gift from his grandmother when he was 11 years old. He learned a couple of enduring lessons early on. First, grandma’s gift was dissipated in a couple of weeks, due to his first and last foray into short selling. Nearly a decade later, in college, he plotted a hostile takeover of General Motors only to be rebuffed by a severe lack of funds necessary to launch the buyout. In retrospect, his impecunity was a blessing.

Although, today, Jonathan often says that the key to financial success is never taking financial responsibility for anything that eats, Jonathan doesn't always practice what he preaches. He has raised three daughters and resides in a Boston suburb with his wife and one disobedient dog. He was educated at the University of North Carolina, Emory University, and Harvard University.
