Stocks Reached a Milestone of Sorts Last Week

Banner headlines proclaimed that stocks reached a 12-month high. But before breaking out the champagne, think for a moment what the headline really says, and that is “stocks have essentially gone nowhere over the past year.” We tend to forget how much was lost in stocks last summer.
